DRY LINING CONTRACTOR FOR BELFAST

At first glance, dry lining seems very similar to plasterboarding, and the terms are often confused. Dry lining is a term that has come across from the United States, and it still involves plasterboard, however it doesn’t need a skim coat of plaster due to the taping and jointing method. Dry lining is the finish on the wall after plasterboard is installed leaving it finished for painters.

For those in Belfast seeking professional dry lining services, JTR Partitions Ltd is a trusted choice. Our team of skilled craftsmen brings a wealth of expertise to every project, ensuring walls are finished to the highest standard. Whether you’re renovating a home, updating a commercial space, or planning a new-build, our dry lining contractor services deliver results you can rely on.

Why Choose Us?

Dry lining is an efficient alternative to traditional plastering. Using plasterboard eliminates the need for a skim coat of plaster while still achieving a smooth, polished appearance. Our trained specialists excel at taping and jointing, a precise technique that bridges the gaps between plasterboard sheets and creates a uniform, robust finish. The accuracy and skill involved in this process mean no detail is overlooked.

This attention to detail produces excellent results, leaving walls ready for painting or papering. Unlike other methods, professional dry lining also helps improve energy efficiency by reducing heat loss in your property. Moisture resistance is an added benefit, underscoring why this solution works so well across diverse interiors.

What sets JTR Partitions Ltd apart is our commitment to quality craftsmanship. From initial consultation to project completion, our team ensures the process is smooth and stress-free. By using only trained craftsmen, we can guarantee our work meets demanding standards while lasting the test of time. The result is a seamless blend of function and style for your home or business.

Choosing the right dry lining contractor is crucial, as the process requires precise tools, techniques, and experience that only professionals can provide. At JTR Partitions Ltd, every project we undertake represents a dedication to quality and a focus on achieving outstanding finishes tailored to client needs.

TAPING AND JOINTING

To finish the plasterboarded walls, taping and jointing is used to create a smooth finish between the boards, and to prevent moisture coming in and heat escaping from the room. It prepares the wall for further decorating and a skimmed plaster finish isn’t needed, provided it is installed professionally.

A SMOOTH AND UNIFORM FINISH

Joint tape is used to bridge the gaps between the sheets of plasterboard, then a jointing compound is used to strengthen the joints and stop cracks appearing. More compound is then applied, feathered, and sanded down to create a smooth and uniform finish, ready to be papered or painted.

FEATHERING – A SKILFUL PROCESS

As a layer of plaster isn’t applied, it is important that the jointing compound is ‘feathered’ so it blends seamlessly into the wall. This is a skilful process where the compound is smoothed away from the centre of the joint with variously sized taping knives until the desired effect is achieved.
